Small Group Leaders
Seeking volunteers to consistently lead the same group of kids each week at a particular weekend service or during our midweek program KidZone on Wednesday nights. Small group time includes provided activities that reinforce the Large Group teaching, as well as “hang out” time to build relationships (training provided).
“Buddy” for Special Needs Child
PromiseLand has several children who need one-on-one care in order to successfully be in a large classroom setting on the weekend or our midweek program KidZone on Wednesday nights. A “Buddy” is assigned to one particular child with Autism or other special need and shadows them during the service or program (training provided).
Weekend Check-In Team
Greet our families, check in the children using our automated system, show visitors to their classrooms; assist with dismissal in order to decrease lines at the door during pick up time

Mentors for GPS Discipleship Program
GPS stands for “God Pursuing Students” and is a program designed to help Jr. Highers mature into committed disciples of Jesus Christ. It is a weekly, one-on-one meeting for one hour with an adult mentor that walks them through Greg Ogden’s Discipleship Essentials.

YoungLife Capernaum
This branch of YoungLife works with teens with disabilities. Current need: Volunteers for every other Tuesday evening for our North County Capernaum group. We need what we call “Buddies” who come to club every other week on Tuesday nights from 6pm-7:30pm just down the street at Daybreak Church. Buddies help us by hanging out with kids at club and assist them in playing games and participating in activities. Sheriff’s Department Search and Rescue Team
The Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Team is an all-volunteer unit. They perform wilderness and urban rescues and search for missing and at-risk people. The teams are available 24 hours a day to respond to local, state and federal agency requests. They also need volunteers in support roles (admin, field kitchen, etc). Bread of Life Rescue Mission
Bread of Life relies on a large and diverse group of volunteers. Opportunities to serve are as varied as the gifts, talents and skills of caring people. They have an outstanding group of volunteers, but need so many more. Volunteers are 16 to 60 and a great group of individuals. Out and About Transportation Program
Volunteer to provide free door-to-door transportation for homebound seniors for routine tasks such as grocery shoppling and doctor appointments as well as social are recreational activities like visiting the YMCA. Requirements: a few hours of free time per week, a current driver’s license and a good DMV record. Volunteer drivers are reimbursed the current annual IRS rate, per mile, per month, not to exceed 100 miles per month per passenger. City of Carlsbad Trail Volunteers
Volunteers make an essential contribution to maintaining Carlsbad’s trail system. Join these dedicated volunteers on the second Saturday of every month at one of the city’s trails to stop erosion, lay gravel, clip brush or whatever is needed to keep the trails in top condition. Those who regularly walk a specific trail can consider becoming trail captains. The volunteer position entails learning who to contact to correct trail problems and taking on responsibilities for keeping that trail well-maintained. Website to check calendar and more details.

For Babies
Donate: Pregnancy Resource Center has over 60 clients a week coming through the center that are in need of baby clothes, diapers, food and baby furniture. They are given out for the Earn While You Learn parenting classes for the first 24 months of their babies lives and . Especially in need of baby diapers sizes 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6’s, and baby clothes up to 24 months old for boy’s and girls, new or gently used.

Backpacks and School Supplies
Donate: NEW backpacks and school supplies for school children and college students, and distributed through our Local Missions partners: Urban Youth Collaborative (Inner City), YUGO Ministries (Mexico), and Lost Boys of Sudan, San Diego (Refugees) .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) USED backpacks are given to StandUp for Kids. We do the drive in July but would be glad to take these items any time in the year (shop sales) and store them at NCCC until needed. Thank you!

Many new families are arriving on Camp Pendleton. They especially need: high chairs, cribs, strollers, and other baby items, beds (all sizes), dressers, tables/chairs, and other basic household items, washers/dryers, and fund or gift cards to help them purchase food, Christmas gifts, diapers, gas, etc. (No adult clothing except maternity clothes).
